Hi. We're building a bug and issue tracker and you can watch.

Linking Issues in Sifter

It's been a while since sharing about how I planned on creating links between issues, and things have progressed quite nicely. Recently, though, I got the idea to add a strikethrough when the target issue has already been closed. I later found out that Trac already does this.

However, after trying it out, the strikethrough made the issue number too difficult to read, so I began exploring other options and ended up with this solution that color codes the issue links based on the target issue's status. It's a little detail, but it provides a valuable piece of ambient information. It also makes the links stand out a bit more and gives them a larger clickable area.

Is there a way to see which issue #15 is without opening the issues in new tabs? (e.g. issue title onhover or just a clean url I can preview)

Very, very nice!! A small detail, but it makes a big difference.

Our wish our paid-for issue tracker was one-tenth as nice as this :/

So awesome. Seriously. I can't wait to test this thing.

Wolf - Not yet, but that's definitely something I'm thinking about. I didn't want to get into any JavaScript for that just yet, but I suppose a title attribute on the link would be a simple first step. Thanks for the suggestion.
